Albion Sections Investment of 1.2 million provides extensive improvement to Customer Service
Recent investment to Albion Sections manufacturing facilities have provided a firm foundation to continually meet the changing demands for the usage of cold rolled products within the steel construction industry. Albion Sections have seen an increasing demand for cold rolled sections to provide solutions for existing labour intensive and heavy processes, namely the changing market place for Cee sections. We have seen our mix of products change in the last 5 years from 80% Zed products, 10% Cee products and 10% Eaves products to 50% Zed and 40% Cee.
This is largely due to the practicality of the Cee profile offering solutions as Side Rails to form door and windows, along with the growing popularity of Horizontal Cladding Systems. We have also experienced an increasing demand for cold rolled within the emerging off site market place as skill shortages and health and safety regulations are becoming increasingly problematic.
Albion Sections have also identified the need for improved leading times, the general steel construction market place not only expect a competitive pricing policy but excellent customer services upon demand. The increasing capacity generated by our investment means an additional 8000t per year can be processed resulting in, our lead times reducing from 2-3 weeks to 5-7 working days.
Quality and product range are also key issues to Albion Sections continual growth and success, our manufacturing facilities now provided a fully automated and dynamic production process, reducing the potential of human error. The new fully dynamic Bradbury roll forming line and our existing facilities allows Albion Section to offer a market leading product range; we are able to produce Zed, Cee, lipped Cee and sigma sections from 75mm - 500mm deep with flanges from 18mm - 127mm and thicknesses from 1.2mm - 5.0mm up to Z55 material.
Investment in software internally and external has already paid dividends, we have seen the value in trusting IT and Cam Data to provide a very capable vechicle to achieve our goal for an effortless order process, from design and detailing through to delivery. We are proud of our information flow as at Albion Sections we feel the customer does not require a return call with the information; the customer would far prefer an immediate response, thus allowing an accurate and time efficient decision to be made.
Improvements to aid site processes, Albion Sections range offer symmetrical sections to help reduce the need for opposite hand mark numbers; we have experience over recent years the increasing complexity of manufacturing details, creating time issues on site. Our customers have combated this continual complaint by phasing projects. Albion Sections in an effort to assist not only mark each part with an identification number but also the customers reference, which could represent the particular phase, the feed back received has been positive as valuable time has been saved on site.
Due to the recent investment, future planned investment and our team, I believe Albion Sections Ltd have the right infrastructure, dynamics, enthusiasm and creativity to play its part along with other like minded companies in the continual development and improvement of steel construction industry in the UK.
